- Our volunteers actively patrol their own neighborhoods to keep the feral colonies they caretake well controlled. They practice TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return) to spay/neuter the colony cats. This ends the cycle of reproduction and the nuisance behaviors that most often give feral cats a bad reputation. Yowling while mating, the smell of male cats spraying to mark territory and the birth of kittens ends once TNR is implemented. Mentoring of others is often possible through our network of volunteers and membership in the NYC Feral Cat Initiative. Via email, we help others to acquire the skills and find the services necessary to be able to control their own neighborhoods.
- We maintain a PETFINDER.COM adoption webpage where rescued cats and kittens are available for adoption. 4 cats at a time are available to be seen in person for adoption at PETS NYC/METRO PETS located at 594 9th Avenue, btn 42-43rd Streets in Manhattan.
