Kittens at Pets/NYC

Calypso is a very friendly and outgoing Calico about 1 year old.  She would probably be best as the only cat in a household.  She'll greet you at the door, and sleep in bed with you.  She was rescued from the streets of Harlem where she was found by an Urban Cat League volunteer.  For more info about  Calypso, email urbancatleague.  Calypso is in a foster home right now in Brooklyn, on vacation from the adoption cage at Pets NYC.  She can be visited at the foster if desired.

Toonsis is a very gentle and loving cat. He has been in the care of Urban Cat League for two months now to save his left eye that was clawed by another cat. He is very sweet and stoically endures his eye meds twice every day.  He is a very healthy and energetic cat that loves to sleep at the foot of the bed with humans and craves belly rubs.   For info about Tuffy email us at urbancatleague@gmail.com  Tuffy will be on view at PETS NYC as soon as his course of eye treatments is complete.

JAX was rescued 3 months ago from the February chill where he was found sleeping on a cardboard box :( He's one and a half but came off the street (emaciated) and still weighing 12lbs. He's absolutely ADORABLE!
Jax is very playful, silly and loves his scratching board (he NEVER scratches on couches!). He'll keep your toes warm while you're at the computer and wake you up with his wet nose to let you know it's feeding time.
If he wants attention, he'll sprawl out on his back in the middle of the room with his feet in the air and give you the most adorable look. Jax is up to date with his vaccines and tested negative for FIV/FeLV.
You can see more pictures of him here:

REX is a big gorgeous Orange and White neutered Male. He should be the only cat in a household.  He desperately wants a home of his own where he can stretch out and relax.  He's very cranky in his cage in Pets NYC and can't wait for a new family of his own. He's about 4 years old, tested and up to date with shots..

LLOYD, has had a tough time in his short 2 years of life. He's a handsome long-haired gray and white neutered male, tested and up to date with his shots.  As a kitten he had eye infections which left him with only about 30% vision.  He's very playful, active and curious despite his visual limitations.  He gets along well with other cats but is a relentless "play-monkey" and any cat living with him needs to welcome a tireless playmate.  Although Lloyd is a special need cats, the staff at Pets NYC thinks Lloyd is the quirkiest, eccentric and one of the most affectionate cats they have ever offered for adoption.

Please support stores like PETS NYC that do not sell ANY animals, large or small!

ADOPT A RESCUED OR FERAL CAT

Ready for that next BIG THRILL!!

What will your next love affair be like? Are you capable of unconditional love?

Few things match the thrill of bonding with a wild animal, even though gaining their trust can be painstakingly slow, and at times a bit frustrating. No, we're not talking about animals from deepest Africa; would you believe from the streets of NYC?

There are beautiful "feral" cats born on our streets every year who can slowly adjust to living with humans if given the chance. They are born to abandoned house cats but have never set foot indoors and don't yet trust a single human being.

Check out our Success Stories on the Photo Essays page.

For our adoptable cats, see our listings on PetFinder.

Time and kindness in a peaceful home is all it takes for most of these cats to adjust to a happy indoor life. No lion taming skills or special equipment is needed, no suit of armor. What's more, living with a feral cat can make a heart-warming addition to one's life. The progress is usually slow but in time, the cats become what most of us think of as a typical domestic house cat.

Have you got what it takes to be the next "Cat Whisperer?" Those who have accepted the challenge will tell you that there are some incomparable experiences waiting for you just down the street. Careful though, once your heart belongs to a "feral," you may be spoiled for life. URBAN CAT LEAGUE specializes in matchmaking for feral cats and caring New Yorkers. We have years of experience socializing ferals to indoor living and will help you every step of the way. Every cat is healthy, neutered, vetted and ready to take that leap from the street and into your heart. Feral cats usually bond effortlessly with the other cats in a home.
